Guide to the Yesterweb
The Yesterweb or old web revival is a movement of people that are sick of the modern web - especially social media. They have brought back a web that is more personal and expressive, free from the reach of the big corporations.
The following is a list of websites that might be of interest to you.
Forums
Those websites are sorted by order of popularity (as the writing of this):
Agora Road forum - A forum with vaporwave aesthetics. This place is essentially a slightly more civilized version of 4chan.
Melonland forum - A forum based on the values of the old web.
Yesterweb forum - A forum based on the values of the old web.
Things To Do
Browsing Neocities - This site is a replica of Geocities. It hosts multiple personal websites (including this one). Lots of creativity there.
Browsing Wiby - A search engine to search small websites. I recommend trying the "suprise me..." button to discover new things.
Browsing SpaceHey - This site is a replica of MySpace, an old social media site.
Browsing VidLii - This site is a replica of old YouTube from the early 2000s.
Finding New Sites
Many websites on the Yesterweb have what is called a "webring" it is essentially a collection of links, they sometimes take the form of buttons. Exploring those webrings is a lot of fun, as you never know where you will end up.
